A calling is also scheduled at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, Indiana from 3:00-7:00 p.m. central daylight time on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Chances are that if you became an Acacian during the last 30 years, you have either met or know of Brother Allen. If you met Dave, you remembered him and he remembered you. Since his undergraduate years at Indiana University, Dave had remained active in the affairs of the Fraternity, serving on the IU House Corporation Board and as Chapter Advisor. He has served the International Fraternity as Judge Advocate and was currently fulfilling his second term as International President. As Judge Advocate, Dave served in four administrations and was the driving force in the re-codification of the Laws of Acacia. Elected president in 2002, Brother Allen commissioned a task force to create Acacia's Strategic Plan as a guiding document for the next decade. An outgrowth of the Strategic Plan is Acacia's new Membership Development Program, Cornerstones. He was a recipient of the Fraternity's George F. Patterson, Jr. award, the Acacia Award of Merit, and the Order of Pythagoras. Survivors include his cousin, Maryann Johnstone, and Maryann's daughter and grandsons, Jennifer, Mitchell and Dean Jordan, of Bloomington, Illinois. Also surviving are his cousin Robert Allen, and Robert's children, Eric, Danny, Clifford and Robin.
Donations in memory of Brother Allen may be made to the Acacia Fraternity Foundation, 8777 Purdue Road, Suite 225, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268. Chapter Updates Deek's Party

Bro. James Feng was such a dedicated worker in the Mike Bloomberg campaign that he was featured in the New York Times this summer. So dedicated they even worked in the rain. ACACIA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 2009
Left to Right: Bros. CJ Matthews, Sterling Ventura, Dave Allen(National President) , Greg Fitton Bro. Matthews wrote Going to ALA was a life changing experience for me in the sense that it opened my eyes to light of Acacia's true essence. I know my fraternity on the chapter scale and I know it to be a fraternity of which is not the best but non is better than. However, once I came to ALA I immediately met brothers from as far as California. This made me jubilant on the inside because I now know that I am a part of something much bigger than myself and my chapter. From holding a leadership position while at ALA, eating lunch with brothers to playing a game of basketball Brother Larson (which was exhilarating), in a nutshell I can earnestly say that ALA is and will always be a vital part to the betterment of our fraternity. So live... The AFF Syracuse Chapter General Purpose Fund (SGPF) reimbursed the Brother’s travel expenses. It helps support Syracuse Chapter Tax tax-exempt activities and is funded by SU Alumni donations. It needs replenishment. You may donate by sending a check marked ALA SGPF to Acacia Fraternity, C/o Bro Ron Hopkins, 5027 Pine Valley DR., Fayetteville, NY 13066 Proud to be an Acacian!
